Meet the Lucky Dog Team

Melinda Meche

OWNER/TRAINER I grew up in south Texas where dogs ran free and didn’t need to be on a leash.  My dogs followed me to school and walked themselves home. Dogs were friendly, fun and furry. Those were the good ol’ days.  Today, I live in a more populated city where it is important for dogs to have good manners and be good citizens too.  I have seen too many people/dog relationships suffer from lack of knowledge.  My goal is to help people communicate with their dogs in a positive way. In 2008, I started my own dog walking, pet sitting, and dog training business. After a couple of years under my belt, I wanted to learn more about training dogs and helping owners communicate more effectively. In early 2010, I attended Triple Crown Dog Training Academy where I graduated as a Certified Dog Trainer. Triple Crown (Starmark Academy) gave me the opportunity to study and train dog behaviors and learn different types of training methods.  I continued into the Graduate Program at Triple Crown where we studied and trained with the Search and Rescue Team, Scent Detection Dogs, and Service Dogs. In late 2010, I began working at a large training facility where I taught a variety of classes such as Puppy Kindergarten, AKC Star Puppy, CGC, Manners, Advanced Manners, Scent Detection, Tricks, Agility Foundation, Treibball and others. Along with teaching classes I enjoyed helping owners with behavior issues and basic manners at their home. In 2011, I became certified as an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and a Certified ATA Level II Treibball instructor. In March 2013, I opened “Lucky Dog Training”. My first year was a lot of hard and a lot of learning.  My client base has continued to grow over the last 5 years (thanks to client referrals). In April, 2017, I moved “Lucky Dog Training” to a new location and a larger building. It is now called “Lucky Dog Training Center”.  My passion for training dogs and helpings owners communicate will be an on-going education course in my life! And I am forever grateful to each and every client!  I hope to meet you and your dog soon! Please contact me if you are interested in growing with us.

Dresden Graff

TRAINER/BEHAVIORIST/CTDI Dresden Graff has been with Lucky Dog Training Center since the spring of 2015. Before moving down to Texas, Dresden was nationally competitive in AKC agility with their papillons Lilly and Knight. These days, Dresden happily shares their life with three papillons; Scout, Harley Quinn, and Renegade, and a big, goofy GSD mix named Hawke. Dresden is currently completing their B.S. in Behavior Analysis at the University of North Texas while competing in rally, obedience, and agility with their dog squad.

Katie Romig

ADMIN/DESIGNER/DOG GREETER Katie is a self-described dog enthusiast who comes from a family of lab lovers. She manages Lucky Dog’s social media and newsletters, as well as helping out trainers when needed. Her dog Bo doesn’t have any titles, but she does have an Instagram account. Katie recently graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in advertising.

Stephanie Berney

TRAINER Stephanie is a true Texan, born and raised on a farm just south of the Ft. Worth area. She has always had a love for animals but dogs are her true passion. Stephanie provides private in-home training lessons and group classes through Lucky Dog. She is always improving her training skills and education because she wants to make as many positive changes in as many lives as possible, both canine and human! In addition to her work with Lucky Dog, Stephanie also works with local shelters and Operation Kindness to help make shelter dogs more adoptable. She truly embodies our mantra of “positive training for positive people,” and we’re so excited to have her on board. Stephanie lives with Sophie, her 5yr old Mastiff/Grey hound mix, Herman, her 1 ½ yr old Staffordshire Terrier/Rottweiler mix, and her husband Tom! Stephanie and Tom enjoy traveling to places that are dog friendly. You can usually find them hiking on trails, hanging out by the pool, and shopping at dog friendly shops.
